Previously known under the name of Areva, the company is headquartered close to Paris / France. T he company is one of the top uranium producing companies in the world. The company produced 8’000 tons, or about 13% of the world’s uranium production.

Orano’s mining activities involve production and commercialization of natural uranium used after enrichment to make fuel for nuclear reactors. Its main uranium production sites are located in Canada, Niger and Kazakhstan.
