According to the WSJ, the impact of the shutdown on confidence is important across the US. The level of the nation’s confidence will not be considered by the FED until next December, at which time attention will be turning to the next debt ceiling deadline.

The dysfunctioning of the government makes the Fed’s job very difficult and hence it can now be expected that there is no tapering before March 2014.
