Infineon (IFX) - Introduction

Infineon is one of Europe's largest chip manufacturers. The company is a key player in the automotive and industrial chip markets, and has strong business exposure to ID cards and security solutions that include semiconductor content. Infineon has divested itself of some low profit businesses in recent years. IFX is a global leader in power discretes and power modules. Chip sales related to more efficient power usage account for about 40% of its sales.
